  • X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX: Jessica Chastain is rumored to be playing the villain in the sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse. 

  • SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING: Tom Holland inadvertently announced that the Spider-Man movies will be a trilogy.

  • FLATLINERS: Yet another 90's movie is getting a reboot, this time with Flatliners. There were also be a cameo from one of the original cast members. 

  • NETFLIX SURPASSES CABLE: In a surprising first, Netflix now has more subscribers than traditional cable.

  • FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE: A star-lineup heads this new comedy from the creator of Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

  • KIMMY SCHMIDT: Despite other series getting cancelled, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is on for Season 4.

  • BALLERS: Ballers has been the most viewed comedy from HBO in the last decade.

  • INSIDE GAME OF THRONES: A new 100 minute documentary is out showing the behind-the-scenes of the special effects for Game of Thrones.

  • HULU VR SERIES: A choose-your-own-adventure style of comedy series in Virtual Reality is coming to Hulu.

  • AMERICAN CRIME STORY: GIANNI VERSACE: The Katrina series has been delayed from season 2, being replaced by the story of the assassination of Versace.
  • THE CONJURING: There are three more spinoffs planned for the hit horror movie.
  • BETWEEN THE CRACKS: THE GOOD PLACE: This series is on Hulu, starring Kristen Bell, as she mistakenly goes to heaven.

  • IS UNIVERSAL'S CINEMATIC UNIVERSE ALREADY CRASHING? The Mummy is supposed to be the jumping off point of Universal's Dark Universe. However, terrible reviews may put that in jeopardy. We go through all of the many, many, many, Cinematic Universes currently being made.

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: It Comes At Night; My Cousin Rachel; Meagen Leavey.

  • BLACK PANTHER: A new poster and promises of a new trailer during the NBA Finals, give us more of a look at T'Challa.

  • TRANSFORMERS 5: A lot of drama, a robot butler, a robot dragon, Mark Wahlberg and more drama.

  • HELLBOY FEUD: Patton Oswalt came to the rescue and defused a burgeoning feud between David Harbour and Ron Pearlman, by supplying a lot of scotch.

  • COWBOY BEBOP: Fans are in an uproar as plans are announced to turn the anime franchise into a live-action TV series.

  • THE HOUSE: Will Ferrel and Amy Poehler team up in the comedy about a couple that starts a casino in their neighbors basement.

  • GAME OF THRONES: The seasons will be much shorter, but the episodes will go to record lengths.

  • AL PACINO/JOE PATERNO: Al Pacino has been cast to play Joe Paterno in an HBO film about the last days of the PSU Coach.

  • COCO: Pixar released a trailer for their November animated feature.

  • MADE IN AMERICA: It looks a lot like Blow, but Tom Cruise will be playing a drug smuggler who turned into a CIA informant.

  • GAME OF THRONES MAY PUSH FINAL SEASON BACK TO 2019; WORTH THE WAIT?: With the implication that the final season of 6 episodes may be pushed back 2 years, we ponder whether or not people will lose interest after that amount of time.

  • WONDER WOMAN IS FANTASTIC: Ryan gives a spoiler-free review of the clear box-office winner and the first critically acclaimed hit for the DC Universe.

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Captain Underpants; I, Daniel Blake; Handsome Devil; Dean.

  • UNCHARTED MOVIE: A casting decision has been made on the movie version of the video game franchise. Surprisingly they are going much younger than originally though, but it could be genius.

  • GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS: This is another movie that's a long way from seeing the theater, but it seems like every week, someone new is cast in it.

  • APPLE CARPOOL KARAOKE: A release date has been given for this new spin on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke, which will feature the matching of various stars together.

  • KEVIN HART/T.I. ON SHOWTIME: The duo is pairing up to produce a new series on Showtime, based around the comedic side of the music business.

  • STRANGER THINGS: The monsters will be bigger and stronger than the demegorgon, per the shows Producers.

  • NETFLIX CANCELLATIONS: It seems rare, but Netflix has started cancelling some series after they get a couple of seasons. Sense8 is the latest to get chopped.

  • MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS: Ryan is excited about this Agatha Christie adaption, featuring Daisy Ridley, Michelle Pfeifer, Judy Dench, Willem Dafoe, Kenneth Branaugh and others.

  • TRUST ON FX: With Brendan Fraser cast as the lead, this series will tell the true story of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III.

  • LOGAN LUCKY: Adam Driver and Channing Tatum are cast as hillbillies that plot a heist, with Daniel Craig. Enough said.
  • BETWEEN THE CRACKS: WILD AND WONDERFUL WHITES OF WEST VIRGINIA: This documentary follows a year in the life of the Whites and their crazy lifestyle as they harass local authorities and yet are celebrities in their own right.

  • TOP GUN 2 IS HAPPENING. IS THIS A GOOD, OR BAD IDEA?: Tom Cruise confirmed it, we are getting a sequel to Top Gun. This time, it will have something to do with drones. Are you on board, or should this be a big no?

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Pirates of the Caribbean 19: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Baywatch are the biggest new releases in the theater this weekend.

  • REBOOT RECAP: The Jetsons has been confirmed by Warner Bros. for a big screen adaptation. Also, Charlie's Angels is coming back, with Elizabeth Banks directing.

  • STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI: Benicio Del Toro's mystery character and Laura Dern both had set pictures released this week.

  • UNIVERSAL'S DARK UNIVERSE: The upcoming The Mummy movie will be the first in a series of monster movies, released by Universal. Among the actors, Johnny Depp will play The Invisible Man and Javier Bardem will be Frankenstein's monster.

  • WAR MACHINE: The farcical war movie is out this weekend on Netflix, with Brad Pitt playing a surly officer.

  • GAME OF THRONES: The latest trailer showcases each side of the impending wars, all as Winter is Coming.

  • VEEP AND SILICON VALLEY GET NEW SEASONS: HBO renewed both of the hit comedies, however Silicon Valley will be continuing on with the departing TJ Miller.

  • X-MEN NEW MUTANTS: The spin-off will be released in 2018 with a different twist; it will be a horror movie.

  • ELLEN DEGENERES: Netflix bought the rights to her first stand up special in 15 years, for a reported $40 million!

  • CASTLEVANIA: The classic video game is finally coming to Netflix as an animated series.

  • WHAT SITCOM WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE REVIVED?: In the wake of Roseanne getting another run, we ask the important question of what other series should get the same treatment.

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Alien Covenant finally hits theaters and an interesting new movie called Wakefield with Bryan Cranston.

  • RIDLEY SCOTT TO DEVELOP FOR TNT: He is signed on to develop a block of programming, including an hour-long series and some shorter programs.

  • ORVILLE: Seth MacFarlane created and stars in a new spoof of Star Trek series.

  • NEW AQUAMAN: We get our first look at Amber Heard in her costume for the upcoming Aquaman Movie.

  • VIPER GETS AN ACTOR: In a swift move, Sony announces that Tom Hardy will in fact be the new Viper.

  • OKJA: A new Netflix movie will star Tilda Swinton and....a CGI Pig/Hippo/Dog/Monster thing.

  • ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT:Season 5 is officially on, per Jason Bateman and this one will be a marked change from Season 4.

  • X-MEN SPINOFF GIFTED: A trailer was released for the upcoming X-Men television series and it's a little.....well it looks rather plain.

  • WITCHER SERIES: The popular Easter European book and video game series is coming to Netflix as a television series.

  • THE DARK CRYSTAL: One of the most exciting series in a while, Jim Henson Studios is bringing a prequel series to Netflix!

  • TWIN PEAKS: After over 25 years off the air, the strange people of Twin Peaks return, this time to Showtime.

  • WHAT IS THE GREATEST IMPRESSION ON SNL EVER?: With Melissa McCarthy set to host SNL this weekend, we attempt to tackle a question for which there is no correct answer.

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: King Arthur gets Guy Ritchie'd, Snatched w/ Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn and Lowriders.

  • BLADERUNNER 2049: Beautifully shot, this sequel to 1982's Bladerunner is starting to look incredible.

  • ALIEN COVENANT: The marketing machine for this movie has been running at full speed for months, but the time is almost upon us. The director gave some insight into why the Xenomorph features prominently.

  • STRANGER THINGS 2: Some hints from the set are leaking out, including details about Will and even news about Season 3.

  • IT: Another trailer is out and another terrifying view of Pennywise, as the kids venture into the sewer.

  • DEADPOOL ANIMATED SERIES: Donald Glover and his brother Stephen are bringing a 10-episode animated series of the Merc with the Mouth to FXX.

  • HELLBOY: It's not going to be a sequel, but it does appear Hellboy is returning to the big screen. The rumor is that David Harbour will be playing the demon.

  • BLACK LIGHTNING: DC is continuing to bring series to CW, with the lesser known superhero Black Lightning.

  • GOT MEETS X-MEN: Massie Williams is joining Sophie Turner by becoming a mutant in a new film about New Mutants. She'll be playing Wolfsbane, while Anya Taylor-Joy is playing Magik.

  • JACKIE CHAN and SYLVESTER STALLONE: Apparently these two have never teamed up for a movie before, bu that is about to end. It will be called Ex-Baghdad and is of course an action thriller.

What TV Series have lasted longer than they should?; Star Wars Machete modified; Weekend Box Office: GOTG 2, Chuck; The Dark Tower; The Defenders; The Housemaid's Tale; House of Cards; The Outlaw King; Godzilla vs. King Kong; Devito & Goldblum; Gears of War movie; The Happytime Murders

  • WHAT TV SERIES WENT ON LONGER THAN IT SHOULD HAVE? It seems to be a common occurrence. A show has a great season or two and then decides to keep pushing the show to a much longer run than needed.

  • STAR WARS MACHETE - MODIFIED: By now a lot of people are aware of the "Machete" method of watching Star Wars, as IV, V, II, III, VI. However, DT has come up with a whole new list.

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Guardians of the Galaxy 2 looks dominate and Ryan provides a spoiler-free review. Chuck also looks very interesting, telling the true origin story of Rocky.

  • THE DARK TOWER: We'll break down the trailer, speculate as to where it sits in relation to the books and fill you in on some Easter Eggs hidden within it.

  • THE DEFENDERS: All four of Marvel's Netflix superheros are in action together for the first time.

  • THE HANDMAID'S TALE: Set in a not-so-distant, dystopian future, this series deals with some very heavy topics. However, the acting and writing is truly phenomenal.

  • HOUSE OF CARDS SEASON 5: This was the precipice for our overall question today. We'll debate whether a Season 5 of House of Cards was necessary. (or 3...or 4...)

  • THE OUTLAW KING: Fans of historical biopics will be excited to see this story of Robert the Bruce of Scotland come to life. Chris Pine and Ben Foster are also set to star.

  • GODZILLA VS. KING KONG: We finally have a date and schedule for the release of the next movies, culminating in the epic showdown between these two monsters.

  • DEVITO & GOLDBLUM: These two legends are teaming up for a future comedy series from Amazon and we could not be more excited.

  • GEARS OF WAR MOVIE: The person behind writing the next 4 sequels to Avatar, will be penning the script for Gears of War. Do we need another video game movie?

  • THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS: Melissa McCarthy, Jim Henson Studios, Muppets, the seedy underbelly of LA and series of puppet murders. Nothing more needs to be said, except we're ready to watch.

  • STAR TREK: DISCOVERY: Development has been pushed back yet again on this bold new Stark Trek series, now without even a concrete release date. Will this series ever get made?

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE PREVIEW: The Circle; How To Be A Latin Lover; Sleight

  • STAR WARS IX and INDIANA JONES 5: Release dates were announced for these upcoming sequels this week. The question that remains is what Disney will do afterward. Are there any characters deserving of an origin story?

  • WORLD WAR Z 2: Zombies are still getting play in the theaters and we now have a director attached to this sequel

  • M. KNIGHT SHYAMALAN: This is a spoiler if you haven't seen Split, so I'll leave it at that. Don't Worry! We gave a spoiler alert and it's only a couple of minutes.

  • REBOOT RECAP: The Great Outdoors; The Tick; Roseanne.

  • DISNEY LIVE ACTION: After the success of Beauty and the Beast, Disney has big plans for live-action versions of their animated films.

  • THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES: A very promising movie starring Jared Leto has reportedly been scrapped, for a reboot of the Anne Rice books/movies. The new plan: a television series.

  • MADONNA BIOPIC: A script is being pushed around Hollywood right now that would detail the rise of Madonna. Madonna herself however, is NOT a fan.

  • APPLE MUSIC TV: It seems odd that a music service would launch video series, but Apple has a lot of them in the works.

  • ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME: The ceremony was filmed earlier this year, but will air this weekend with performances by Pearl Jam and honors for Tupac, Prince, ELO and more.

  • LABRYINTH SEQUEL: The classic fantasy film from George Lucas and Jim Henson is getting a sequel, over 30 years after the original. Good idea, or bad?

  • BETWEEN THE CRACKS: THE NOBODIES: This new series on TV LAND is full of star power and is pretty damn hilarious.

  • THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS SPIN-OFF: After eight total movies, plans are now in the works for a spin-off of the Fast and the Furious franchise. Is this one spin-off too many, or something you're excited for?

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE PREVIEW: The Lost City of Z; Free Fire; Phoenix Forgotten.

  • CAPTAIN MARVEL: After months of speculation, the director(s) for the new Captain Marvel movie have been chosen and they are surprising. Also, we'll detail a little more about this all-powerful Marvel character.

  • CLOAK AND DAGGER: Marvel continues their expansion on the television side with a new trailer for Cloak and Dagger. How this will tie-in is a little unclear, but this one is definitely targeted towards teens.

  • DISNEY LIVE ACTION MOVIES: Yet another Disney movie is getting the live-action treatment, this time it's Aladdin. Will Smith is currently in talks to play the Genie, but is he the best candidate?

  • FAHRANHEIT 451: The classic dystopian novel from Ray Bradbury is getting a new HBO Television movie. Michael B. Jordan is the being touted as the lead.

  • CARMEN SAN DIEGO: Netflix is bringing another 80s series back to life, with Carmen Sandiego. This version is being called a “fresh take” on the series.

  • GIRLBOSS: Britt Robertson stars in this series based on the book by Sophia Amoruso. It may not be for all audiences, but it is well done.

  • THE KEEPERS: If you liked Making a Murderer, you will definitely be interested in this new doc series, detailing the death of a nun in 1960s Baltimore.

  • BLOODLINE SEASON 3: The Rayburn family is coming back for a final season, which means it's a good time to binge-watch the previous episodes, if you haven't already.

  • ADAM SANDLER: Netflix unveiled some mind-boggling statistics, regarding subscriber habits and Sandler movies. The result: 4 more movies.

  • LABRYINTH SEQUEL: The classic fantasy film from George Lucas and Jim Henson is getting a sequel, over 30 years after the original. Good idea, or bad?

  • X-FILES: The whole gang is back! Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny and show creator Chris Carter will be back on screens later this year.

  • STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI: Finally we have a trailer, a poster, a cryptic message from Luke Skywalker and even a Carrie Fisher tribute! We'll break it all down and share some theories about what it all means.
  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE PREVIEW: The Fate of the Furious looks ridiculous and probably awesome. The Lost City of Z brings back an old Hollywood-style adventure movie.
  • THOR RAGNAROK TRAILER: It's got everything you could possibly want in a comic book movie and more. We breakdown who is in it and why it's primed to be fantastic.
  • CASTING NEWS: There is a finally a Cable to go with Deadpool; Dolph Lundgren joins the cast of Aquaman; Jude Law looks set for a long run in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

  • MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000: The series is back after 18 years! With a stellar cast, can they bring back the same magic?
  • BETTER CALL SAUL SEASON 3: We finally get to see Gus Fring in the Better Call Saul series and the first episode is streaming for free!

  • CINEMATIC UNIVERSES: With Marvel, DC, Monsters and now Call of Duty all having cinematic universes, what else should get one?
  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE PREVIEW: Smurfs: The Lost Village, Going In Style and Colossal round out the rather lackluster Box Office, this weekend. However, Colossal does show promise!
  • DEFENDERS TEASER AND JESSICA JONES 2: We finally get a look at all four Defenders, on screen together. Plus a really cool marketing campaign is under way. There is also some casting news for Jessica Jones 2.
  • MARVEL LIVE ACTION COMEDY: Expanding their universe ever more, Marvel is bringing the New Warriors to television with a live-action comedy. We will finally see Squirrel Girl on camera!
  • THE MUMMY: The reboot of The Mummy and the first in Universal's Monster Franchise has release another trailer. This one emphasizes the horror aspect and is looking pretty good.
  • STAR WARS VIII CHARACTER: Benicio Del Toro has a major role in the next Star Wars and we go over the speculation as to what it will be.
  • DICK CHENEY MOVIE: Adam McKay continues to venture out of the Will Ferrell-world, with a movie about Dick Cheney. The leading candidate to play the role? Christian Bale. Which is just weird.
  • ALL EYEZ ON ME: The Tupac Shakur biopic is shaping up to be a pretty great movie. Jamal Woolard is revisiting his role as Notorious B.I.G.
  • DON RICKLES: We pay tribute to the passing of a the comedy legend.
  • CALL OF DUTY: Activision has announced that they would like to create a cinematic universe, based on the iconic game franchise.

  • BATGIRL GETS A MOVIE: Joss Whedon has crossed the divide from Marvel, to DC. He is reportedly finalizing a deal to write, direct and produce a Batgirl movie.
  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE PREVIEW: Ghost in the Shell has had a lot of controversy surrounding it, but will it turn into a good movie? Also....The Boss Baby.
  • BEST STEPHEN KING MOVIE EVER?: We try to tackle this daunting question, which is really difficult to answer. The new trailer for IT is really promising, with an 80s spin, as opposed to the original mini-series.

  • KONG: SKULL ISLAND: Monster movies are back, leading to a discussion of our favorite ones of all time. The original monster, King Kong, looks to have a pretty good reboot movie out this weekend, with strong reviews coming in.
  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE PREVIEW: In addition to Kong, a strange movie called Raw comes out this weekend. It appears to be some kind of cannibal type of film? Also, yet another Scientology movie is out, called "My Scientology Movie".
  • THOR: RAGNAROK IMAGES: Taiki Waititi's upcoming movie in the Thor franchise, finally released some set photos and they did not disappoint. From a short-haired Thor, to the Goddess of Death, to Jeff Goldblum, this may be the best one yet.
  • STAR TREK: DISCOVERY GETS A CAPTAIN: The oft pushed back series will focus on a Lieutenant, played by Sonequa Martin-Green. However, there will be a captain named Lorca, played by Jason Isaacs.
  • DEADPOOL 2: The teaser that played before Logan shows us what a polar opposite R-Rated superhero movie that Deadpool is. Could this also be the jumping off point for an X-Force film?
  • LATE SHIFT: Late Shift is an upcoming interactive film game, being released on PS4, XBox and Steam. The viewer will be presented with 180 decisions and 7 different endings to choose from.
  • JURASSIC WORLD 2: Our first image has emerged to give us a look at Jurassic World 2. It doesn't tell us a lot, but will the premise be that the knowledge of how to clone dinosaurs goes open-source?
  • GEOSTORM: Fans of natural disaster movies will get a little bit of everything in this movie, set in the distant future where technology controls the weather.
  • LOONEY TUNES STREAMING SERVICE: Boomerang is on pace to become an animated warehouse, grabbing the rights to stream 1000 episodes of cartoons, including Looney Tunes.
  • LITTLE MERMAID: The upcoming live action movie is not made by Disney, instead focusing on the original fairy tale. The trailer proves to be brilliantly bad.

  • LOGAN RULES: The episode starts off with a discussion of what is the greatest superhero movie of all time. This leads us into the Box Office for this weekend. Logan is unlike any superhero movie you've seen before and Ryan gives us a spoiler-free review.
  • BEFORE I FALL: An alternative to Logan this weekend is this movie, which appears to be a teen SciFi drama version of Groundhog Day.
  • KONG SKULL ISLAND: The final trailer for the new Kong movie is out and this one gives the movie a different look. Giant lizards, machine guns and a lot of Kong make this look like a pretty good action movie.
  • GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2: We find out a lot more of the details of the upcoming Marvel movie in their latest trailer. With squid-like monsters, Borg-like people, an appearance by Mantis and much more, we'll break it all down for you.
  • ALIEN COVENANT: Another week, another look at the planet that will be featured in the newest Alien movie. Serious action and a Xenomorph look promising. 
  • TRON 3: After being shelved by Disney after Tron: Legacy, new ruomr are circulating about another Tron movie. This time Jared Leto could be involved with a completely separate Tron story.
  • BRIGHT: Bright is a movie set in a world where orcs, elves, fairies, pixies and humans have all existed together. Then Will Smith comes in. Then an Orc becomes a police officer.
  • WAR MACHINE: Brad Pitt brings a movie based on the book by Michael Hastings called, The Operators.
  • NETFLIX COMEDY: Louis CK joins the massive roster of comedy talent at Netflix, including Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld.
  • THE IRISHMAN: Martin Scorsese will be reuniting with Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro, in addition to Al Pacino, Harvey Keitel and more.
  • LEGION: We'll give a spoiler free review of Legion. Hint...it's awesome.

  • HAN SOLO SET PICTURE: We received our first look of the cast of the upcoming young Han Solo movie. Is it enough to generate excitement for the risky film by Disney?
  • ACADEMY AWARDS: We bring on DT Movie Buff, Rob Oster to discuss the upcoming awards. Ryan and Rob each give their predictions and commentary on the films and actors.
  • BATMAN DIRECTOR and NIGHTWING MOVIE?: Yet another week, yet another director out to head the Batman movie. However, developments are under way for a possible Nightwing movie.
  • GOT CAST GET CAST: Iwan Rheon, who played the pure evil Ramsay on Game of Thrones is now joining Marvel's Inhumans, as Maximus the Mad. Also, Alfie Allen aka Theon Greyjoy is joining the growing cast of actors in the upcoming Predator movie.
  • ALIEN COVENANT: The sequel to Prometheus and the prequel to Alien released a 5 minute prologue this week. We learned a little more about the cast and get a sneak peak at what's in store for the latest movie in the franchise.
  • CASTLE ROCK: Stephen King is teaming up with JJ Abrams again, with a very exciting series called Castle Rock, for Hulu. Purportedly the series will tie in all of the many books and movies that reference the Maine town.
  • THE DISCOVERY: This intriguing movie is set in the near future, where a Doctor has discovered proof of the afterlife. It's coming to Netflix in May, with a fully loaded cast.
  • BETWEEN THE CRACKS: SCHITT$ CREEK: This series is funny and charming, starring Eugene Levy and some of his real life family members. It's light, with a great cast and definitely worth checking out.

  • THE LAST JEDI: We finally have some clarification of the upcoming Star Wars title, thanks to the release of the German and Spanish versions. It appears as if Jedi is meant to be plural. So who will the last Jedi be?
  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: It's a bit of a clunker this weekend with The Great Wall, A Cure For Wellness and Fist Fight all debuting. We recommend sticking with Lego Batman, or John Wicke 2.
  • STRANGER THINGS SEASONS: The Duffer Brothers have revealed that they have big plans for the series beyond season 2. Also, it appears an otherworldly pet, may be joining the cast.
  • AMAZON SECURES ELECTRIC DREAMS: Bryan Cranston will Executive Produce a new anthology series based on Philip K Dick's short stories, called Electric Dreams. Will this be Amazon's Black Mirror?
  • COEN BROTHERS MEET SCARFACE: The Scarface remake is happening, focusing on a Mexican immigrant version, most likely starring Diego Luna. Now we know that the Coen Brothers are writing the script.
  • PLANET OF THE APPS: Apple has made it no secret that they would like to get into the original content game. A trailer for a Will.i.am. led show called Planet of the Apps has now debuted. It's....not looking great.
  • DC DIRECTORS: Batman has the line on new director, in Cloverfield's Matt Reeves. The Suicide Squad 2 movie is surprisingly pitching Mel Gibson to join up and direct.
  • CASTLEVANIA ANIMATED SERIES: Netflix will be producing at least 2 seasons of animated show based on the iconic video game series, Castlevania. Adi Shankar will produce and claims it will be the "western worlds's first good video game adaptation."
  • THE EXPANSE: The series is based on the book and actually debuted in 2015. However, with season 2 currently airing, it's gaining a lot of traction. We give a full review and let you know what it compares to.

  • STRANGER THINGS SEASON 2: We finally have our first look at what Season 2 will be bringing us and we'll recap all the rumors about what seems to be happening.
  • IRON FIST: The final Defender is coming to the screen in a couple of weeks. Who is Danny Rand and what is his story? We'll give you a preview.
  • BILL NYE: Bill Nye now has his own science series premiering on Netflix, called Bill Nye Saves The World. The show tackles a number of issues and features celebrity guests.
  • BAYWATCH: It may sound like a ridiculous idea for a movie, but with The Rock involved, you have to at least give it a chance.
  • GHOST IN THE SHELL: This is one of the most intriguing and confusing trailers of the year so far. We attempt to explain what it is all about.
  • HAN SOLO CGI: A new actress is reportedly joining the Han Solo solo project, continuing with a theme of the newer Star Wars movies.
  • THE CIRCLE: A movie perfectly made for the time we live in. Featuring a company that is part Google, part Apple and part Facebook, Tom Hanks leads an incredible cast.
  • THE LOST CITY OF Z: It's been a long time coming, for this story to finally make it to the big screen. One of the most fascinating mysteries in the last 100 years, Percy Fawcett's Amazon excursions will now be brought to life.
  • LARA CROFT: It's becoming the age of Alicia Vikander, as she takes over the role of Lara Croft from Angelina Jolie. The villain being played by Walton  Goggins, is a huge bonus.

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Rings comes back and appears to be going viral; The Space Between Us is a romantic sci-fi drama about a boy from Mars.
  • SCARFACE REMAKE: It's happening, whether you want it or not. However with Diego Luna on board and different Mexican take on it, could this actually work?
  • DUNE REBOOT: Confirmed by Brian Herbert, Dune has brought on a big time name to head the upcoming film and TV projects. Denis Villeneuve has been on a roll lately and it will be interesting to see where he takes the Dune franchise.
  • AQUAMAN CASTING: Nicole Kidman has joined the cast of Aquaman, playing Atlanna. In addition we may have a villain with a pretty cool costume in Black Manta.
  • BATMAN SOLO MOVIE: Ben Affleck has stated that the Batman solo movie is still a go. However, they are now looking for a new director, as he has decided to step down from that roll.
  • LEGION: FX brings the X-Men to the small screen with Noah Hawley at the helm. Legion looks like it will be a fascinating take at a mental illness combined with super powers.
  • PETER CAPALDI IS OUT AS DR. WHO: The Doctor will be changing again, after Peter Capaldi announces he is leaving. Who do you think should replace him?
  • MILLIE BOBBIE BROWN: The star of Stranger Things will be joining the cast of Godzilla.

  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Resident Evil The Final Chapter is out, as the major release of this weekend. Films getting subsequent wider releases are Gold, starring Matthew McConaughey, plus I Am Michael, with James Franco and Zachary Quinto.
  • LA LA LAND: The Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone movie just got a much wider release after receiving a record-tying 14 OSCAR NOMINATIONS. We cover a bit of it and take a look at the rest of the major nominations from the Academy.
  • THE FLASH MOVIE: DC's Justice League is out later this year, but the solo film for one of the main stars has been delayed again. Word is that the studio has ordered the current script scrapped, and wants a complete re-write for The Flash.

  • LOGAN TRAILER: The newest trailer for Hugh Jackman's last portrayal of Wolverine is out and it is clearly going to be a different kind of superhero movie.
  • WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: XXX: The Return of Xander Cage appears to be Fast and the Furious meets James Bond. A star-studded, perhaps Oscar-worthy movie called The Founder is out, chronicling the founding of the McDonald's franchise. Split marks the return of M. Night Shyamalan with James McAvoy playing 23 different characters.
  • STAR TREK: DISCOVERY UPDATE: The series is facing yet another delay, however a huge casting/character has been added. James Frain (True Detective, Orphan Black) has been cast as Sarek, Spock's Father!
  • SEINFELD HEADS TO NETFLIX: Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has officially been acquired by Netflix, moving the entire series to the platform. Also in the deal, more season of CICGC and 2 new stand-up specials.
  • SNATCH GOES TO TELEVISION: Guy Ritchie's Snatch movie is heading to Crackle as a television series. It looks pretty great, starring none other than Harry Potter's Rupert Grint.
  • WILL AND GRACE: We always talk about reboots of series, but this one stands out, as the entire cast is back for a brand new season of the popular series that started in the 90's.
  • NEW POWER RANGERS TRAILER: This may be the most mainstream Power Rangers movie yet, detailing the origin story of this group of super heroes. 
  • THE ROCK BECOMES BLACK ADAM: Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has finally been cast as DC's Black Adam. He's lobbied for the roll for years and this looks like it could be fantastic.
  • GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 2: We're finding out more about the upcoming sequel, including the fact that Nebula will be taking on a more prominent role.

  • BETTER CALL SAUL: THE CHICKEN MAN: Gus Fring returns in the new season of the Breaking Bad prequel series, with a special Pollos Hermanos commercial spot.
  • ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT SEASON 5: It appears that salaries have been set and we are mere weeks away from an AD Season 5 deal. What do you expect from it and what should they change from Season 4?
  • YOUNG HAN SOLO: we already have our Han Solo and Donald Glover will be playing Lando Calrissian. Now Woody Harrelson will be joining the Star Wars Story.

  • FAST 8: FATE OF THE FURIOUS: This is the franchise that keeps on going, as Vin Diesel and crew return for another movie. This one features Charlize Theron and a submarine.
  • STAR TREK DISCOVERY: We've finally learned the lead for this new series will be The Walking Dead's Sonequa Martin-Green. In addition, the formation of the Klingon Empire could be a plot point.
  • SNEAKY PETE: A new trailer has come out for the Bryan Cranston Amazon project, starring Giovanni Ribisi as a criminal that owes Cranston money.
  • GODZILLA and PACIFIC RIM: The titles and the release dates of the sequel films have now been made public, including a change of a previous rumor.
  • MARCO POLO: Much to Greg's dismay, Marco Polo has been cancelled by Netflix. Should there be a spin-off though?
  • GOTHAM CITY SIRENS: Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn will lead this DC movie. We also have some character/casting rumors about who will be joining her.
  • DUNKIRK: Christopher Nolan goes dark, with the true tale of the 1940 WWII Dunkirk evacuation of allied soldiers.
  • ALAN THICKE: Sad news of the passing of Alan Thicke, but we did find out more about his surprising music career.
  • AMAZON GOES GLOBAL: Amazon's streaming service will now be in over 200 countries. Are they primed to challenge Netflix?
